After Matisse. Oil on 5”x5” heavy woven paper. I have always looked to Matisse for many reasons- color, because he used it like a wild man! And pattern too, Matisse and I share a love of both color and pattern. I paint these pieces as an homage to him and to learn from him. And because my mother loved and introduced his work to me. ♥️
